here's the Georgetown table runner from Yarnplay on my livingroom table. when i moved across the country a couple of years ago the only furniture that i brought with me was a circa 1933 porcelain topped kitchen table and 2 chairs. hence, i needed a lot of furniture when i moved into this apartment. my mother had this glass table top (with a hideous wicker bottom) in her garage. i loathe wicker furniture, so there was no way i was taking the bottom, but i knew i could be creative with the top. another thing that made the move was my extensive collection of i-D magazines. having no place to store them and having a table top that needed something to support it, i stacked the magazines and put the glass on top of it. voila! instant livingroom table. Georgetown was designed with a rectangular table in mind. on my white porcelain table it lacked contrast. (it would probably look best against wood.) however, i think it looks cool here!
